Family Funeral Service

Arrangements

Family Funeral Service offers a wide variety of services and arrangements to meet every individual need of the families we serve.

AT NEED ARRANGEMENTS: Many people are not sure what to do when a death occurs. The steps you take depend on the circumstances and the location where a death occurs.

1. Death at a HOSPITAL or INSTITUTION: You need to inform the hospital or institution that Family Funeral Service will be handling the arrangements. The medical staff should handle all the necessary paperwork and legal steps to be taken and should call Family Funeral Service (501) 362-2088 to arrange for removal of the deceased. You may need to complete some legal release paperwork for the hospital or nursing home. You need to leave your phone number and contact information so we can reach you concerning arrangements.

2. Death at a HOME: If the death is unanticipated you should call 911 for the emergency medical personnel to take the appropriate steps. If the death is confirmed the coroner should be notified. If hospice personnel are assisting you they will know the appropriate procedures to follow. The hospice nurse or coroner will call Family Funeral Service (501) 362-2088 to come to the home and move the body to the funeral home. If the death is anticipated the coroner must pronounce the death at the home or scene. The coroner or hospice will then call Family Funeral Service to move the body to the funeral home. Family Funeral Service will respond at all times of the day or night and will come to the home. We will make an appointment with you to come to the funeral home and make arrangements and consult with you for the funeral services, cremation services or memorial services of your choice.

3. Death OUT OF STATE: Call Family Funeral Service at (501) 362-2088 and we will gather the information needed from you to have all the necessary and legal arrangements made to transport the deceased back to us.
